My Personal Criteria For Buying TV Stands
62In the market for that perfect match of a TV stand? One that matches your house and your television? What about shopping for TV stands that go well with you personal style? If this describes you, then I am happy to tell you that huge variety of TV stands that you can purchase with different styles, make, and set-up. TV stands are made with tons of different styles. They can be anything from the traditional wood carving style to a very contemporary style (sometimes glass or other metallic styles). You’ll be able to find TV stands that match your personality no matter what you are looking for.
When you are out looking for TV stands around town, it can be quite overwhelming to know that you have thousands and thousands of choices—especially with online shopping. To assist you in decided what TV stands to look for, I have come up with a few very important points to consider. First and foremost, think about your color preference and whether you want traditional or modern.
If you are on the more contemporary side of things, there are TV stands in very modern, sleek, and clean styles. More traditional? No problem. You will likely want to think about purchasing a wood TV stand with, again, unlimited style options. With the more traditional, take a good look at the different materials used. With technology now, manufactures can give you the exact same look as an antique piece of furniture but use a much cheaper (and durable) material. That is, if you’re not in it to show off how authentic your TV stand is. Save that for the statue in the front room.
Another thing to keep in mind when deciding what style is whether you want shelves or open area. You can get either in both modern and classic but keep in mind that it is easier to find shelving in classic styles and easier to find open space TV stands with more modern styles.
Possibly the most important factor when considering what TV stand to purchase is its quality. Most places you look, online or in a store, will be divided up into sections relating to their quality. With the traditional style, the biggest difference in quality is between hard woods and laminates. Be very careful here. I love Ikea but, man, when it comes to TV stands with low quality laminating, Ikea is the worst. (Buy your kitchen stuff there) As far as the modern style, most are pretty good quality, but if it’s glass, make sure it tempered. Also, always check the stats to make sure it can support your TV. Some of those tiny TV stands are made to really hold a ton of weight. Some of the bigger Ikea stuff? Well…
Go first to your favorite store and check out what they offer. It is often helpful to go there first because you know what they typically bring to the table and you can be more assured that a sales person won’t rip you off. Otherwise, I always check online next. Some of those big stores have online ways of purchasing which are often times cheaper than going to the exact same store in person.
I hope this has been helpful.
